Motorola continues to expand the availability of its mid-budget MOTOLUXE smartphone. Shortly after the company introduced the handset in Greece, Motorola France announced the MOTOLUXE is available for purchase via Orange.

The smartphone has been similarly priced in all European countries, so Android enthusiast living in France should expect to find this one for a suggested retail price of 300 EUR (395 USD) off-contract. Customers can choose one of the two color schemes available, white and licorice.

Two things set the MOTOLUXE apart from other mid-budget Android-based phones, the large display and the enhanced rear camera.

Those unfamiliar with the phone’s specs sheet should know that Motorola MOTOLUXE sports a 4.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

Moreover, the handset boasts an impressive 8-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

To emphasize the fact that the MOTOLUXE is aimed at youngsters, the smartphone includes a lanyard slot that lights up when users have missed a call, received a text or have an email waiting.

Software-wise, Motorola MOTOLUXE is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform with Moto Switch UI on top. For additional personalization options, the phone provides access to more than 450,000 apps via Google Play Store.

The insides of the phone are far from being impressive. The MOTOLUXE is equipped with an 800 MHz single-core processor and packs 1GB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

By combining sleek style with Android brains, MOTOLUXE is ideal for people who want the latest technology in a sophisticated package. Not only does this smartphone have a big screen and the latest, greatest entertainment tools, it’s affordable and won’t take a bite out of your budget,” said Chantal Korver, marketing director, Motorola Mobility SAS.
