14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola build the MOTOKEY Mini EX108 feature-phone for emerging markets, which is one of the main reasons the handset is now introduced in multiple South-American countries.
Initially launched in Brazil via TIM carrier, the MOTOKEY Mini EX108 was introduced in Argentina last week, and now hits shelves in Chile.
There’s no word on the price of this cheap handset, but Motorola states that the phone is now available from all main carriers across the country.
MOTOKEY Mini EX108 is a cheap messaging phone that offers users a full portrait QWERTY keyboard, which allows them to type faster and more accurate.
“With an functional design and a full suite of multimedia features, Motorola MOTOKEY Mini EX108 demonstrates the commitment made by Motorola Mobility to launch products that meet the needs of the various user profiles,” said Fernando Sánchez, general manager, Mobile Devices Motorola Chile.
Aside the QWERTY keyboard, the feature-phone comes with a small 2-inch standard display that supports 220 x 170 pixels resolution.
The phone offers only the basic messaging and multimedia features, such as email, SMS and MMS. According to the manufacturer, the email setup process has been simplified to make sending and receiving text messages and e-mail much easier.
It is also worth mentioning that the phone comes with Grouped View for instant messaging that allows users to view the message history with contacts grouped in the same screen.
The Motorola MOTOKEY Mini EX108 is pre-loaded with deep social networking integration, allowing for quick access to Facebook and Twitter, which are pre-loaded on the handset.
On the inside, the phone packs 50 MB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB. 2GB memory card included).
There’s also a sub-par 2-megapixel camera on the back that features video recording capabilities, playback and image editor.
Other features offered by MOTOKEY Mini EX108 include a music player, Opera Mini, FM radio with RDS, FM recording function and audio-recorder.
