If anyone wanted some means to easily monitor their fitness levels while listening to their favorite song, Motorola has the solution.

The company has officially launched the MOTOACTV - something that looks like a wrist watch, but is actually a wearable fitness performance tracker - in Israel.

It also plays the role of smart music player, as the press release called it, leading to the feeling of “having a professional fitness instructor and your favorite DJ helping you train at all times.”

Pace, distance, calories burned and the map of the route taken are all constantly updated, and the workout data is even synced with MOTOACTV.com.

Meanwhile, 8 GB of onboard storage hold whatever songs one desires, and the 1.6-inch color touchscreen handles the interaction.

It even has scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and auto-adjustment based on indoor and outdoor lighting.

Furthermore, Bluetooth 4.0 and ANT+ wireless connectivity is supported, along with FM radio and Android phone syncing, plus a battery life of up to 5 ours outdoors / 10 hours indoors / two weeks standby.

“Motorola has created a new category of smart device that supports your active lifestyle with the addition of MOTOACTV,” said William Ripley, general manager, Companion Products EMEA, Motorola Mobility.

“Workout smarter without using multiple devices or even wires, with the first multi-activity music and fitness tracking device with the brains to push you beyond your limits.”

Motorola's MOTOACTV has actually been around for quite a while, but only now has it become available in Israel, for 1,999 ILS including VAT.
