Motorola MILESTONE, the GSM version of Motorola DROID, has been officially announced to become available in Canada via Telus in early 2010 and, even if no exact release date was given, the latest reports around the Internet suggest that January 26 might be the lucky day for enthusiasts. For what it's worth, Telus' users will soon be able to enjoy a very appealing device, especially since its maker also revealed that it would soon receive an update to Android 2.1, the latest flavor of Google's mobile operating system.

The rumored launch date for Motorola MILESTONE on Telus comes from Android And Me, which cites “a tipster from the Canadian cellular industry.” According to the news site, this is what the source stated on the upcoming launch: “I’ve received confirmation from my Telus sales rep that the Milestone will be scheduled to launch January 26th on the Telus network; provided that it launches 'on time'.”

As many of you might know by now, Motorola DROID / MILESTONE has been said to be the best handset of the last year by a wide range of people out there, and now there are even some that suggest it might prove better than the Nexus One. The phone can easily prove as being a great option due to its large touchscreen display, its QWERTY keyboard and its connectivity options, that's for sure. It still remains to be seen when it will officially land in Canada, but the release date shouldn't be too far ahead, that's for sure.

In the meantime, we should take a look at another interesting report on DROID. The handset has been recently spotted running a yet unannounced version of HTC's Sense UI, namely the one that should arrive on the market when the company's upcoming HTC Espresso is released, and which is said to be included on all future Android 2.1-powered handsets from the company. Compared to the stock interface DROID comes with, the Sense solution gives it a little more flavor, and the image to the left shows you how it looks like.
