Expansys dropped £50 from its price tag

One of the hottest mobile phones that arrived on the market last year with Google's Android 2.0 operating system on board is the Motorola MILESTONE (available in the US via Verizon Wireless as the Motorola DROID), a handset that is now even more appealing on the UK market. The phone was available in the country exclusively via Expansys until a few days ago, which had it available for purchase priced at £449.99, and now it is priced at £399.99 at the same retailer, while also being sold via other retailers with similar pricing.

It seems that Expansys has performed this £50 price cut for MILESTONE not only due to losing the exclusivity on the handset, but also due to the fact that Google is bringing the Nexus One by HTC on the UK market via its own web store. One way or the other, the main idea is that Android fans in the country can now enjoy the MILESTONE at a lower price, and £399.99 for this handset doesn't sound bad at all.

As for the price tag the mobile phone sports at other retailers in the UK, Play.com has it for the same cost, while Handtec has it for £398.31, though you'll have to pay for the delivery too (Expansys and Play.com will ship it for free). However, some other options are also there for UK users, and phandroid suggests that one possibility is the purchase of a MILESTONE from Play.com via a cashback site like TopCashBack.co.uk, case in which one would have the device for around £385.99.

Those who haven't purchased a MILESTONE yet due to its price might reconsider the move now. The handset comes with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 854 pixel resolution and multi-touch capabilities, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with Dual LED Flash and video recording, QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11g), Bluetooth, support for Google services like Maps and more, and is powered by a 1400 mAh battery that can deliver up to 6.5 hours of talk time or up to 380 hours of standby time.
