When you are a multinational company with devices that span the entire globe, some lawsuits are to be expected. And when your name is Motorola and you're planning to launch a new tablet dubbed “Xoom,” you’d better make sure that name isn't taken.

According to Engadget, Motorola weren't that lucky, having been sued by the Xoom Corporation for use of its name. And because it pays to have a good attorney, they have recently announced they are ending their dispute off-court, having entered a confidential agreement.

While the details will probably never be revealed to the public, it is known that Motorola will have to forgo the use of the Xoom name when launching future devices.

Curious as to what the new Motorola names might be? So am I. With so many new devices emerging every day, it is going to be increasingly difficult to find a name that is not taken.
