Although the handset is available for purchase since last month, Motorola and Nextel officially announced the i940 only recently.

There is no mentions on the exact availability or pricing options in the press release, but customers who want to check it out can head over at Nextel's site, as the carrier already listed the Motorola Lead i940.

On the back, the handset features a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, which enables users the possibility to capture their special moments.

There's mentions on the amount of internal memory, but the smartphone embeds an external microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as a free 8GB memory card in the sales package.

Other highlights of the smartphone include a multimedia player, Bluetooth, TeleNav GPS navigation, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
