Since it’s been acquired by Chinese company Lenovo, Motorola did not make any official announcement regarding new mobile phones. However, both Lenovo and Motorola have confirmed that the latter’s roadmap for 2014 will remain untouched, so everything that the US-based company may have prepared for its fans will be released according to the initial schedule.

Well, the first two smartphones that Motorola is likely to release in the coming months are two variants of its popular affordable Moto G smartphone.

According to Phonearena, Mexican site Xataka has recently received inside info on two new handsets to be released by Motorola this summer, the Moto G LTE and Moto G Ferrari.

As we have mentioned earlier, both handsets are variations of the current Motorola Moto G smartphone, so fans should expect only few improvements over the original model.

For example, as its name suggests, the Moto G LTE is said to offer LTE support and nothing else different in comparison with the standard Moto G handset.

This means that Motorola Moto G LTE may be released with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The LTE-enabled Moto G will be powered by the same 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, accompanied by an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The standard Moto G does not offer LTE support and comes in two storage variants: 8GB and 16GB. However, the LTE version will only pack 16GB of internal memory. It’s unclear whether or not Motorola will add a microSD card slot for memory expansion for the Moto G LTE.

Motorola Moto G LTE is said to be launched in Mexico in June for around $260 (€190) outright, but there are no details on the smartphone’s availability in other countries for the moment.

It is also worth mentioning that the Moto G LTE retail package may include a flip shell, which is usually sold separately for around $30 (€20).

The same goes for the second Motorola smartphone tipped for release this summer, the Moto G Ferrari. Motorola launched several Ferrari-branded handsets in the past, so the information that it might release another one based on the budget-friendly Moto G model shouldn’t be surprising.

Unfortunately, no details on the Moto G Ferrari specs and availability have leaked online yet, so we must wait for more info to surface in the coming weeks.
