Wi-Fi Alliance, the association that certifies IEEE 802.11 compliant products, has recently approved a Motorola device labeled MB612.

The device is now showing in the organization’s database with support for Wi-Fi standards b, g and n.

According to the guys over at Blog of Mobile, the device in question could be the Motorola Kronos, the CDMA version of T-Mobile's Motorola CLIQ2. The latter is also known as Motorola MB611, which might suggest that the assumptions about the phone's identity are true.

Currently, there is no info avialable regarding its specs, but if the rumors are true, Motorola Kronos should have largely the same features as its GSM sibling.

Motorola Kronos is allegedly powered by a 1GHz processor and it will be powered by Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

It will be delivered with the manufacturer's MOTOBLUR user interface, that enables users to easily manage their social network accounts, widgets and contacts.

The phone will most likely keep the same slide-out form factor, as well as the same size (116 x 59.6 x 14.5 mm) and weight (175g, battery included).

Users reports have indicated the fact that the slider's QWERTY keyboard feels much better than other Motorola smartphones such as Milestone 1 and about the same as Milestone 2.

Just like the Cliq 2, Motorola Kronos would carry the same 3.7-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors support and 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

Other key features of the Kornos might include 1 GB of internal memory, 512 MB RAM, microSD card for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, as well as a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash.

The phone's Li-Ion 1420 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 312 hours of standby time or up to 8 hours of talk time.

Currently, the Cliq 2 is available for purchase at T-Mobile USA for $99.99 with a new two-year contract of $399.99 unlocked.
