Good news for Motorola fans, as the US-based company has just informed those who applied to participate in beta testing new software for its Android smartphones that a new soak test is about to begin today.

According to Phandroid, the devices in question are Motorola DROID Maxx, Ultra and Mini, which have already been confirmed to receive the latest Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade.

Although Motorola did not offer additional details on what software would be sending users for testing purposes, there’s a high chance that this is KitKat.

If everything goes well, we might see Motorola dropping Android 4.4 KitKat earlier next year for all DROIDs mentioned.

An exact release date won’t be offered for sure, but details will probably leak ahead of the launch. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

[UPDATE]: Verizon has just confirmed that Android 4.4 KitKat for DROID Maxx, Ultra and Mini is being pushed out in phases beginning today.
