Mobile phone maker Motorola is getting ready for the release of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system on its DROID MAXX and DROID Ultra devices, as a soak test for the update is about to kick off.

Apparently, the company has already sent out invitations to the test, providing some users with the possibility to get a taste of the update before it becomes generally available.

The mobile phone maker has invited members of the Motorola Feedback Network to participate in the test, but the company has not provided specific info on what the update will include.

However, given that the two handsets were already updated to the Android 4.4 KitKat platform, it was only a matter of time before Motorola decided to make the latest version of the mobile operating system available for them as well.

The actual soak test is expected to begin in a matter of days, and it might not be too long before all DROID MAXX and DROID Ultra owners on Verizon’s network might get a taste of it, provided that the initial test goes according to plan, as Android Central notes.

Hopefully, it won’t be long before Motorola decides to share some more info on this with its users, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
