The mobile leader for managing mobile handsets proliferation solutions, Mobile Complete, has announced on December 4th that they have signed a deal with the investing arm of the Motorola mobile
phone manufacturer, Motorola Ventures.
The financial terms of this deal are yet to be disclosed by the two parties, if it will ever happen, and the mentioned
deal is going to provide extra funding for the Mobile Complete company so they can expand their DeviceAnywhere web-based virtual development
lab to other worldwide locations and to a larger array of handsets. Their development lab, for the time being, offers around 650 clients the ability to test their mobile applications on approximately two thousand handsets without actually needing to purchase any of the real devices.
Warren Holtsberg, corporate vice-president for equity investments at Motorola, has said that "Motorola's intense focus on quality aligns with Mobile Complete's focus on improving device manufacturers' ability to rapidly test and deploy software. We believe the Direct-to-Device technology enables the larger mobile devices ecosystem and developer community to more quickly and cost-efficiently develop and monitor applications across a range of Motorola
handsets running on wireless operator's networks globally".
The Direct-to-Device technology powered by Mobile Complete offers the company's clients direct access to a huge number of cell phones connected to networks all over the world, this devices being brought to the client's desktop over the Internet. The fact that makes it so innovative is the direct access of the user to the handset's interface and keypad, the user actually being able to view the phone display and listen to its ringers and speakers.
After the financing deal has been signed by both parties, Faraz Syed, the CEO of Mobile Complete, has declared that "we are energized with this new round of financing. This strategic partnership with Motorola Ventures will be a key driving force for our continued growth. Having proven our technology, products, and business model in the marketplace, with a roster of 650 plus customers that includes major
mobile content and application developers, network operators and device manufacturers, we are now ready to aggressively ramp up our solutions on a global basis."
