Motorola XOOM 2 and its Media Edition sister have just arrived in Norway. Although Android fans may be disappointed by the fact that both slates are delivered with Honeycomb on board, at least Motorola promised it would deliver an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in Q2/Q3 2012.

Customers who are willing to spend on a XOOM 2 tablet can head over to the nearest Elkjøp store across the country and purchase one of Motorola's Android slates.

It appears that the US-based company launched both Wi-Fi only and 3G models, so consumers can now order any of them for the following prices:

- Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition - Wi-Fi variant - from 2999 NOK (505 USD or 395 EUR); - Motorola XOOM 2 - Wi-Fi variant - from 3499 NOK (585 USD or 460 EUR); - Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition - Wi-Fi & 3G variant - from 3799 NOK (635 USD or 500 EUR); - Motorola XOOM 2 - Wi-Fi & 3G variant - from 4299 NOK (720 USD to 565 EUR).

Although each slate is equipped with a dual-core processor packed at 1.2 GHz, Samsung's new Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 or 7.0 might be a better solution, even if they're powered by slightly lower 1 GHz dual-core processors.

Motorola XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition pack 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The former sports a large 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (800 x 1280 pixels) resolution, while the latter comes with an 8.2-inch display.

Both tablets feature dual cameras, 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as secondary 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calls.

Tablets are quickly becoming a must-have tool for staying connected, getting work done and having fun at home and on the road. We are very excited about the latest additions to our tablet portfolio that builds on the success of the original Motorola XOOM to now deliver a more powerful tablet experience to the Danish market,” said Victoria McManus, UK and Nordics marketing director, Motorola Mobility.
