Motorola Inc. announced yesterday the launch of its M710 iDEN Car Phone.

Following the success of the M800 CDMA and M900 GSM car phones, Motorola introduces the M710 to help make iDEN in-vehicle communication more reliable, user-friendly and feature-rich.

Introducing more convenience, security, information, and entertainment, the Motorola M710 delivers today's consumer and commercial users a seamless integration between their vehicle and their digital lifestyle and business needs.

Motorola's M710 helps enable Location Based Services via integrated AGPS, such as personal and business navigation solutions and fleet management applications, when these services are supported by M710 cellular carriers. Such applications include optimized routing, traffic advisories, weather updates and roadside assistance. Also available are Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and Java programming capabilities that help allow fleet management dispatchers to communicate specific operational needs from the back-office to front-line employees in the vehicles.

Further enhancing the driver's experience, the Motorola M710 can be used as a data modem to enable email and fax transmissions and offers a wide range of multimedia services including browser capabilities, messaging, "Push-To" features, Java applications, downloadable media content and more.

The Motorola M710 will be demonstrated at Commercial Vehicle Telematics, November 16-17, 2006.
