   Motorola names Mark Shockley as Senior Vice President of Global Go-to-Market for Mobile Devices Business

On Monday, mobile phone maker Motorola announced that it had appointed Mark Shockley as senior vice president for its Global Go-to-Market for Motorola’s Mobile Devices business. According to the company, Mark Shockley will be responsible with overseeing the company's Mobile Devices sales operations all around the world. Moreover, the handset vendor notes that he is to report directly to Sanjay Jha, Co-CEO, Motorola, Inc. and CEO of Motorola’s Mobile Devices and Home Business.

“With over 20 years of successfully leading teams across various Motorola businesses in Asia, Latin America, Africa, Europe and North America, Mark is uniquely qualified to lead our Global Go-to-Market organization,” said Dr. Jha. “Mark brings extensive sales, market and business experience, proven leadership abilities, and in-depth customer knowledge and carrier expertise to his new role. We are confident in his ability to execute on our business objectives.”

Shockley joined Motorola back in 1979, and accounted for a series of leadership roles within the company over the years. One of its roles was that of senior vice president and general manager for the Americas Region Go-to-Market for Motorola’s Mobile Devices organization. Previously, he was corporate vice president and general manager, East Asia Mobile Devices.

“Mr. Shockley has also held several other senior product group leadership positions, including vice president of the product team responsible for Motorola’s Microsoft devices and Motorola’s initial efforts in Wi-Fi enterprise solutions. Additionally, Mr. Shockley has held leadership positions in sales, marketing, international operations, product management, and business operations. Mr. Shockley holds a degree in business administration from Ohio State University,” the company added.

At the same time, Motorola announced that Frank Meng was appointed corporate vice president and president, Greater China for the Mobile Devices business, effective immediately. He will be responsible with Motorola’s Mobile Devices business and sales operations for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and is to report to Shockley. Meng arrives at Motorola from Qualcomm Inc.’s Beijing, China operations, where he served as corporate senior vice president and president of Qualcomm Greater China.
