Only three handsets are now available on the German site

It looks like previous and ongoing patent suits have hurt Motorola Mobility pretty hard in Germany.

In fact the company is doing so badly that it was forced to pull all Android devices from its German website in order to address some of the patent infringements claimed by Microsoft and Apple.

Motorola RAZR HD and RAZR i are the only smartphones that remain on the German site, which means these two do not infringe any patents.

The folks over at Areamobile were the first to report the missing Android devices and have reached out to Motorola for comments on the reasons behind its decision to pull these smartphones.

Well, it looks like this time Motorola was kind enough to respond and confirmed these Android devices have been removed in order to have their software reworked.

Although the company’s officials did not mention why the necessity of making changes to the OS, we can safely assume that these are related to the multiple lost patent suits and injunctions awarded to either Microsoft, Apple or any other competitor.

Even though this move may seem surprising for some, Motorola announced several months ago that it would address all these complaints, but failed to do so until now.

There’s no word on when these Android devices will be back on the German website. Unfortunately, we don’t even know whether or not they will be available for purchase in Germany anymore.

Fortunately, the latest Android smartphones launched by Motorola, the RAZR HD and RAZR i will still be available on the German market, at least until the US-based company loses another legal battle.

Motorola said it would make some changes to these devices’ software, but we don’t have any confirmation that they will be back on sale anytime soon, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
