Android 1.6, MotoBlur, 3.1-inch touchscreen and more

Mobile phone maker Motorola is already known to be working on a new handset that will run under Google's Android operating system and which will make an appearance on Verizon Wireless' lineup, namely the Motorola Devour, and now a few more details on the hardware specifications of the device emerged into the wild. Following the recently spotted Devour box, the specs list is here to offer us more details on what the device will be all about when launched on the market.

[admark=1]According to the guys over at Android Central, who brought the specs to light, it's almost confirmed that the Motorola Devour will arrive on the market with Android 1.6 (Donut) and Motorola's MotoBlur solution thrown over it. Most of you might know already that the software is capable to offer an enhanced user experience, and Devour should also do so with the MotoBlur on top of it. However, the Android 1.6 platform might not be as appealing, though there are chances an update will land in the near future.

The hardware specs of the phone include: * 3.1-inch touchscreen at 320x480 * Dimensions: 4.55x2.4x0.61 inches * Weight: 6.35 ounces * Talk time: Up to 340 minutes * Standby time: Up to 440 hours * Horizontal slider keyboard * 3-megapixel camera * EVDO Rev. A, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth with A2DP, aGPS * Speakerphone

At the same time, the upcoming Motorola Devour is also expected to include appealing multimedia capabilities, with support for AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA and MP3 audio file formats and MPEG-4 and h.263 video file formats, not to mention that it will boast a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space. An HTML 5-compatible Webkit browser will also be included in the package, along with support for various services from Verizon, such as VCAST music with Rhapsody. Unfortunately, no details on the launch date or on the price tag devour will sport emerged at the moment, though it shouldn't be too long before they do, so stay tuned for more info on it.
