Will run for $549.99 off contract

Motorola Devour is the second Android-based mobile phone from Motorola set to become available for purchase in the US via Verizon Wireless, and February 25 is the date when it will hit the shelves, yet no official details on the price tag of the device emerged until now. Best Buy announced recently that it was taking pre-orders for the Devour, and also confirmed the release date, but kept mum on how much it would cost, both on contract or without.

However, some of the latest reports around the web suggest that the handset will run for $149.99 upon the signing of a new two-year contract on Verizon Wireless, while being priced at $549.99 without a contract. The price tag for the handset seems good enough, considering the features and capabilities it will hit the market with, yet we'll still have to wait for the official confirmation on this. Engadget brought the news into the wild, via a supposedly leaked flyer showing the said price tag.

The Motorola Devour, as most of you might already know, comes to the market as a mid-end device from its Maker, being placed somewhere between the DROID, which is a high-end phone, and CLIQ and BACKFLIP, which come as lower-end handsets. However, in case the rumor pans out, those interested in purchasing an Android-based smartphone with support for Flash will have to get $149.99 out of their pockets for it, while committing to a 2-year agreement with Verizon.

If there are some of you interested in this mobile phone, you can have a look at it in the video below, in which Rick Osterloh, VP of Android Software & MOTOBLUR Services at Motorola, demonstrates some of its features. It's a seven minutes video demonstration, and one will enjoy seeing how Devour's Wi-Fi connection works, a tour of the handset's specs and software, while also learning what he has to say about the phone. February 25 is roughly a week ahead, and is pretty interesting to learn a few more details on the Devour just before it is launched.
