Motorola DROID with Silver Buttons on eBay

Motorola DROID is considered to be the nicest Android-based handset that came to the market this year, not only because it comes with the 2.0 flavor of the Google operating system, but also because of its looks. Most of you might be already familiar with the gold buttons present on the handsets side sliding QWERTY keyboard, yet you might also want to know that an alleged prototype Motorola DROID has appeared on eBay and that it sports silver buttons.

The said device seems to be one of the 5 prototypes that were supposedly meant only for Motorola engineers, and it comes with some differences from the commercially available model, including:
- Chrome bezel instead of black
- Silver buttons instead of gold
- Enhanced LED lighting on touchscreen buttons

The eBay auction is to be closed on November 26, only three days from now, and the bidding for the phone has already reached US $510.00, which means that some people are already interested in the device. There is no assurance that this device is indeed a real deal and the guys over at phandroid say it best: “We’ve already seen the DROID taken apart so there isn’t any reason an enterprising little scammer couldn’t have taken the DROID apart, repainted and touched up some key pieces, put humpty dumpty together again and sold it. But based on the pictures included this LOOKS like a real Droid.”
