Mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility and US-based wireless services provider Verizon Wireless are reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new mobile phone, the Motorola DROID X2, and it seems that the device is almost here.

Following a long series of rumors and speculations on the possible arrival of this mobile phone, some more solid proof that it is almost here started to emerge.

The Motorola DROID X2 has just got a support page going live over on Motorola's website, and it is also being mentioned over at Verizon, on a page listing accessories for it. Furthermore, the mobile phone's user manual has made an appearance into the wild too.

All these, put on top of rumors regarding the near availability of this mobile phone, cannot suggest anything else than the fact that a new member of the DROID family is about to become official.

Some of the previous rumors on this device suggested that it might arrive on shelves as soon as May 26th is here, and it seems that it might indeed be bound to hit the market at that time.

The smartphone would include a wide range of high-end features, such as the 4.3-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a qHD resolution.

The Motorola DROID X2 would also include a fast and powerful dual-core 1GHz application processor, as well as enhanced connectivity capabilities, and more. Have a look at its full specs here.

The new mobile phone is expected to arrive on shelves with the latest flavor of Google's Android operating system on board, as well as with support for various services from Google and Verizon, and with access to applications available through the Android Market.
