Handles it pretty well

Adobe's Flash Player 10.1 was one of the most expected solutions for mobile devices. The software giant announced its release to handset makers a few weeks ago, but not all devices out there would taste it in the near future. Among those who will, we can count smartphones running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, including the Nexus One, which already got upgraded to the platform, as well as a wide range of other handsets set to be updated within a matter of weeks.

The upcoming Motorola DROID X, set for an official launch over at Verizon Wireless in the US on July 15, is another device that would taste Android 2.2 in the near future, something that would offer it the possibility to provide users with full support for Adobe's Flash Player 10.1 technology. With a large touchscreen display and a powerful processor, the DROID X should be able to handle Flash 10.1 quite well, and the video below, brought to the web (on YouTube) by Senior Technical Evangelist at Adobe Systems Ted Patrick (via Android Central), is a proof of that.

Adobe promised Flash 10.1 for mobile phones about a year ago, and the solution seems to be ready for prime time. Of course, the solution's performance on handsets should be greatly influenced by the hardware specifications of those devices, but Motorola DROID X should not face difficulties on this area, and it's specifications list can easily show that.

On July 15, Verizon would place on shelves a handset boasting an 8-megapixel photo snapper with Dual LED, auto focus, and video recording capabilities, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth connectivity options, 3.5 mm headset jack, HDMI Micro Connector, 8GB of on board memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space (a 16GB microSD card included in the package), and Google's Android 2.1 OS. A wide range of services and applications are also pre-loaded on the device, and more features should become available as soon as Motorola and Verizon deliver the Android 2.2 Froyo solution to it.
