14 DAY TRIAL // Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has put on sale a new high-end smartphone for its customers, the Motorola DROID Pro, a candybar device with both a touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard.
Priced at $179.99, the smartphone is now available for purchase from the carrier's website here, both for existing and for new customers to the carrier.
The price tag includes the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier, along with a $100.00 mail-in rebate, which will be offered in the form of a debit card.
According to Motorola, the new device is aimed mainly at business customers, which are looking for a device that can offer both increased functionality and great performance levels.
The new smartphone packs a 1GHz application processor inside, complemented by 802.11 (b,g,n) connectivity options, 3G mobile hotspot capabilities, 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB 2.0, and more.
Running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, the new device offers support for Adobe Flash Player 10, while also offering support for Corporate calendar, email and contacts (Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010),
It also comes with Google contacts, calendar and Gmail, FacebookySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn contacts support.
The smartophone includes 2 GB of on board memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and a 2 GB microSD card included in the package.
