On Thursday, Mobile phone maker Motorola announced the launch of a new Android-based mobile phone on the market in Korea, in the form of MOTO QRTY. According to the company, the new device is a Motorola Milestone version aimed at the market in Korea, which would join hands with the already released Motorola Motoroi, which managed to become one of the most popular devices in the country.

The new MOTO QRTY runs under Google's Android operating system, and sports the same sliding design as the previously released Milestone (or its United States counterpart, the DROID) does. The new mobile phone comes to the market with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display that boasts a WVGA (480 x 854 pixels) resolution, as well as with the side sliding QWERTY keyboard, only that it includes keys with Korean characters on them.

The rest of the handset's specifications are similar with those present with the Motorola DROID and Milestone, including a 550 MHz processor complemented by 256MB of RAM and 512MB of Flash ROM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g connectivity, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, USB 2.0 High Speed, 3.5 mm headset jack, aGPS, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with Dual LED, auto focus and video recording capabilities, and other more.

The MOTO QRTY measures 60.00 x 115.80 x 13.70 mm and weighs in at 165 g. It comes with support for WCDMA 2100, GSM 900/1800/1900 networks, and packs a 1400 mAh Li Ion battery that can offer up to 210 minutes of talk time, or up to 300 hours of standby time. The mobile phone sports a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of additional storage space, and comes with a pre-loaded 8GB memory card.

Motorola also announced that the new MOTO QRTY would be available for purchase in the country via SK Telecom, the wireless carrier which launched the Motorola Motoroi too. For what it's worth, it seems that Motorola is trying to make its high-end devices available in as many markets as possible, considering that Motoroi arrived in Europe as Milestone XT720, and that it might land in the US too in the near future.
