Earlier this week during the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Motorola and Verizon went official with a new high-end Android device, the Motorola DROID 4.

The smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves at Verizon in the coming weeks, featuring a price tag of $249 (195 Euros), a recently leaked MAP list from the wireless carrier revealed.

Although the official release date and pricing for the new device have yet to be unveiled, the user manual for the mobile phone has already been made available online.

The guide was found on Motorola’s website (PDF link) and provides detailed info on the use of the device, just as one would have expected from such a document.

All those interested in the purchase of a Motorola DROID 4 who would like to learn specifics on what the device has to offer should take a look at the said document.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the new handset was made official with a 4.0-inch qHD display with scratch and scrape resistant glass, as well as with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, similar to previous members of the DROID family.

Moreover, the new mobile phone features a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM packed inside, along with 16 GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card for expanding the available storage by up to 32 GB.

Motorola DROID 4 also sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 1080p HD video capture capabilities. Moreover, the new device features Mirror Mode to display images and video on an HDTV.

The new Motorola smartphone offers support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network and also delivers Mobile Hotspot capabilities with support for up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices. 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS features were also included into the mix.

The Motorola DROID 4 will land on shelves with Google’s Android 2.3.5 operating system on board, but will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich soon after.
