Motorola has brought to the market a nice range of DROID devices, all based on Android and all available at Verizon Wireless in the US, and they will soon launch another such phone, dubbed DROID 4 if some of the latest rumors on the matter are to be believed.

Similar to the previous handsets in the series, the upcoming Motorola DROID 4 will sport a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and, of course, Google's mobile operating system.

The handset is currently in the developing phase, is being called 'Maserati' internally, and is said to be an astonishing device.

It will lack the D-Pad, yet it will arrive on shelves with a great keyboard, a large 4-inch screen, 4G LTE connectivity, and with a removable battery, it seems.

The info on DROID 4 emerged over at HowardForums, and comes from a user claiming that he held the Spyder too.

What's interesting to note is that the smartphone is said to come to the market with a smaller screen than some of the latest high-end devices it brought to shelves recently, such as the DROID Bionic or the PHOTON 4G.

However, it might gain in performance levels what it would lose in size, since it is clearly expected to be high-end a dual-core device.

Motorola's DROID handsets already impressed Verizon's customers, and the company will continue to bring to shelves phones capable of offering a great experience for all users.

Thus, the release of a DROID 4 smartphone, one that will include an appealing keyboard, great looks and support for Verizon's 4G network is something that might have been expected.

Of course, we'll take the available details on the yet-unannounced Android mobile phone with a grain of salt for the time being, but we'll be sure to keep an eye out for more on the matter, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
