Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is gearing up for the release of a new Motorola handset in its DROID lineup, none other than the DROID 4.

To make room for the new device, the carrier has cut the price tag of older mobile phones, including the DROID 3, which is now available for only $99.99 (79 Euros) with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

The Motorola DROID 3 was made available for purchase with a dual-core 1GHz application processor and a four-inch qHD display, along with an eight-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The same as its predecessors, the DROID 3 was launched with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. The upcoming Motorola DROID 4 smartphone features a similar design. The new handset was also packed with support for 4G LTE networks.
