Motorola DEXT Available at Orange UK on October 7

Motorola's first mobile phone that comes to the market running under Google's Android operating system, the Motorola CLIQ, will become available for purchase on Orange UK's airwaves as the Motorola DEXT on October 7. The new mobile phone comes with the innovative MOTOBLUR solution and will be put on sale in the UK via Orange's stores, while reaching Phones 4U shelves on October 8.

At the same time, the wireless carrier has also announced that, in case there are enthusiasts who would like to purchase the new handset before the general availability, they can do so at the opening of Orange Multimedia Store in Milton Keynes on October 6, the first Multimedia Store Orange opens in the United Kingdom.

The new Motorola DEXT with MOTOBLUR comes with a new approach to communication, integrating all of its forms, including work e-mail and social messaging, directly to the handset's home screen. Thus, the mobile phone brings together updates from contacts, posts, messages, photos and more and syncs them from a variety of sources, including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Gmail, LastFM, Yahoo or work and personal e-mail.

Motorola DEXT comes to the market in a sliding form factor, sporting both a touchscreen display and a full-QWERTY keyboard, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video recording capabilities, a full HTML browser, 3.5 mm headset jack, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, MicroSD memory card slot that supports up to 32GB of additional storage space, support for a wide range of Google services, access to Android Market, and social networking integration.

According to Orange, the new mobile phone will become available for its users for free upon the signing of a 24-month contract on a £34.26 per month plan. Besides the Motorola DEXT, users will also enjoy 900 any network call minutes, and unlimited texts as well as access to Orange Maps and anytime Internet browsing.
