The latest water-proof Motorola smartphones, the DEFY XT and DEFY MINI have just been launched in India. Although the handsets are not available on the market yet, Motorola confirmed they would go on sale beginning June 20.
Customers will be able to purchase Motorola DEFY XT and DEFY XT for a suggested retail price of Rs 16,190 (290 USD or 235 EUR) and Rs 11,490 (205 USD or 165 EUR), respectively. Both smartphones will go on sale through selected retail stores.
Motorola DEFY MINI
is already available worldwide in most countries, but the DEFY XT has been especially built for the Asian market.
Both rugged handsets are powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, but the DEFY XT seems to be superior when it comes to hardware.
Motorola DEFY MINI sports a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display (320 x 480 pixels), whereas the DEFY XT comes with a slightly larger 3.7-inch screen that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution. It is also worth mentioning that each display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass coating.
On the inside, the DEFY XT
packs 512MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM, while the DEFY MINI has only 512MB of ROM and 512MB of RAM. Aside from that, both devices come with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
The Motorola DEFY XT sports a 5-megapixel camera and the DEFY MINI a 3-megapixel rear photo snapper. Both come with VGA front-facing cameras and 1650 mAh Li-Ion batteries.
