Motorola has just announced the upcoming availability of the rugged DEFY MINI Android smartphone in Greece. The handset is expected to hit shelves in mid-April for only 169 EUR (220 USD).

No word on whether or not the DEFY MINI will be offered by any carrier in the country, but at least we know the phone’s suggested retail price.

The smallest handset in the DEFY family, the Motorola DEFY MINI is dust-proof, water-resistant and comes with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass coating for extra protection.

It sports a decent 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution and 262k colors.

Beside the low price, another strong point of the DEFY MINI is the long battery life. The device embeds a 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide users with up to 500 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time.

The 3-megapixel camera on the back features LED flash and video recording and enables users to snap photos while on the go. There’s also a secondary VGA front facing camera for self-portraits and video chats with friends and family.

Motorola DEFY MINI is powered by a low-performance 600 MHz single core processor and packs 512 MB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Software-wise, there’s no surprise that the handset is shipped with Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread platform integrated with MotoSwitch UI. Obviously, users are provided with access to more than 450,000 apps and games via Google Play.

Motorola DEFY MINI is just the right mix of style, value, performance and toughness. It can stand up to whatever your busy life throws at you, keep you connected and organized, and capture and share your once-in-a-lifetime adventures – all with resilience and style,” said Tsitos Spiros, country manager, Motorola Mobility, Hellas.
