14 DAY TRIAL // Unveiled back in August, Motorola DEFY+ is already available in most region of the world. However, for unknown reasons, the handset maker decided to launch a special version of the smartphone, which will be available in the UK next month.
Dubbed Motorola DEFY+ JCB Edition, the handset is not so different than the original DEFY+ model. In fact, the phones are similar when its comes to hardware configuration.
Customers who are thinking of buying this rugged Android smartphone will be able to do so on December 6 via Clove UK. The retailer already added the device to its portfolio and priced it at £260 (410USD or 300EUR) off-contract.
Motorola DEFY+ JCB Edition is delivered with a richer sales package, as well as 24 month warranty as opposed to the standard 12 month Motorola warranty.
In addition, customers who purchase the rugged phone will also get an exclusive JCB branded skin with shock absorption, designed specifically for the DEFY, an exclusive JCB application which includes 6 tools ( Therodolite, Spirit Level, Torch and Decibel Reader) and a B&Q store locator, as well as an exclusive JCB packaging.
Although the Motorola DEFY+ features IP67 protection rating, which means that the device is water and dust resistant, those who grab the JCB Edition will receive added protection via its shock absorbing JCB branded case specific to the DEFY.
The phone runs the same Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, which is complemented by MOTOBLUR user interface with Live Widgets.
The DEFY+ JCB Edition is equipped with a 1 GHz TI OMAP 3620 processor and packs 2 GB storage, 512 MB of RAM, 1 GB of ROM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).
There's also a 5-megapixel camera on the back that features autofocus and LED flash, and a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen, which is protected by Gorilla Glass display.
