Motorola DEFY+ sees another European release, as the company is trying to bring the rugged smartphone to as many countries as posible.

In this regard, the DEFY+ will be available in Sweden beginning November 10 for a suggested retail price of 2795 Swedish kronor (308 EUR or 424 USD).

According to Motorola, the device can be purchased starting next week from Elgiganten, 3, Tele2, TeliaSonera, Dialect and The Phone House.

The latest Motorola rugged Android smartphone, DEFY+ is built on the popularity of the Motorola DEFY.

In fact both models are pretty much similar when it comes to design, but feature slightly different hardware and software configurations.

Motorola DEFY+ is equipped with an improved 1 GHz TI OMAP 3620 processor and drains power from a better 1700 mAh Li-Polymer battery.

The handset maker rated the battery for up to 384 hours of talk time or up to 7 hours of continuous usage, which is slightly better than DEFY's 1540 mAh Li-Polymer battery.

The phone received IP67 certification and offer protection against dust and water (up to 1m for 30 mins).

In addition, the 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 854 pixels resolution is scratch resistant thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass display.

On the back, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization and video recording capabilities. The phone lacks a secondary front facing camera for video calls.

Another major difference between the two smartphone is the operating system. While the DEFY was delivered with Android 2.1 Eclair at launch, and only recently received a Froyo upgrade, Motorola DEFY+ comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board.

Furthermore, the DEFY+ also allows users to stay connected with their friends with Google Talk app, while those who prefer to stay up to date with the latest gossip can take advantage of the Zinio e-magazine service.
