Boost Mobile announced on Monday that its users who opted for the ‘Monthly Unlimited’ plan could now fully benefit from the unlimited text messaging service it offered them through the addition of the new Motorola Clutch i465 handset to its lineup. The device comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, meant to make texting easier, as well as with walkie-talkie capabilities.

According to the operator, the combination between the new Motorola handset and the ‘Monthly Unlimited’ service can prove the best option for those who would like to have unlimited anytime calling, text messaging, wireless Web and walkie-talkie service available at a rate of only $50 per month, without the need of a contract, credit check or hidden fees.

“We recognize that iDEN users want a dependable push-to-talk device with enhanced messaging capabilities,” said Rick Gadd, vice president, Motorola Mobile Devices. “We’re proud to bring this first-of-a-kind Motorola device to Boost Mobile as a no contract option to meet the needs of budget-conscious consumers.”

The new Motorola Clutch i465 is the first handset from the company to come with walkie-talkie capabilities and messaging, providing users with IM-style texting and allowing them to easily respond and follow the message stream. The phone also includes Bluetooth 2 connectivity, a photo snapper with video recording capabilities, GPS, speakerphone, wireless web, and Unified Messaging and Threaded Messaging.

“Motorola Clutch is a terrific addition to our diverse handset line-up. If you like to text as much as you talk, this is the device for you,” said Neil Lindsay, chief marketing officer, Boost Mobile. “Boost Mobile offers a full suite of solutions for every customer with a range of handsets to choose from and budget-friendly, dependable services such as our $50 Monthly Unlimited plan.”

The new Motorola Clutch i465 can be found available for purchase on Boost Mobile's website at a price tag of $129.99 with no contract or credit check. The company also announced that the phone would soon become available through various Boost Mobile retail and distribution channels.

new to boost. have been using the iden network and the clutch for just short of a month now. could not be happier. voice calls have yet to drop, quality is some of the best ive ever had. texting works just fine. im coming from using an iphone and the at&t network... the phone was great... the network was continually getting worse. in my opinion, if you want a great web browser, use a netbook... everything else is castrated. this phone will not satisfy a web junkie! but... if you want to talk and text... it does both of those amazingly well.

To create a bookmark:

1.Go to the Browser page you are viewing in the handset you wish to bookmark.
2.Hit the MENU key for the handset.
3.Select "Mark this page" (usually option #2); it will pull up a URL page.
4.Select "OK" with LEFT Softkey
5.Press "OK" again to confirm and go back to webpage

I just figured out how to do a few things with this phone First if you want to bookmark you actually have to hold down the menu button for a couple seconds for the options to come up and second to get ringtones to work as ringers you need some type of converter(joy ringtone is what I have but I am sure there are plenty with the same options use a trial version first if its not a free program) that allows you to change the MP3 settings to MONO Channel, 8000KHz Resample, & 80kbs Bitrate. Then the only way I have been able to get them to work as ringtones is to send via bluetooth from another phone (because my computer does not have a bluetooth adapter) so basically I create the converted tone with Joy then once I save it I email it to my daughters phone and then bluetooth it to mine! Works great a little work but better than paying out the beep for ringtones!

I was told this option didnt come with this phone by a sprint store salesman. I was told several times over the phone with a Sprints rep. that it does!!! Can anyone help me with this? They tell me that I got a bad phone,,but hey,, two times???? That doesn't seem right.
