Motorola Mobility recently announced the long-awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Motorola RAZR and RAZR MAXX will be available in Europe.

The update is still rolling out across European countries, but other regions have been left out for the moment. Canadians owners of Motorola RAZR are still waiting to receive their hotly-anticipated upgrade.

Although all major carriers in Canada stated that the Android 4.0 ICS update for Motorola RAZR is expected to be released in late August, it looks like the US-based handset maker though otherwise.

The bad news is that the update has been delayed, but the good news is that Motorola RAZR owners will get their promised upgrade in early September.

Motorola Canada posted the following statement on its Facebook page: “We wanted to share with you that the RAZR ICS upgrade will roll out in early September. We’ll have more details about the upgrade to share with you soon, so stay tuned!

Although the company does not unveil the exact release date of the upgrade, it does say more details will be available soon.

We’re not sure if Motorola Canada plans to roll out the Android 4.0 ICS update for all RAZR devices available in the country, regardless of the carrier.

Still, we suspect that the update will be pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so not all Motorola RAZR owners will receive it at the same time.

Motorola RAZR owners should take into consideration that this release timeframe is subject to change, so they might get the promised upgrade earlier, or later than expected.

On a side note, DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX owners have already received ICS weeks ago, but all complain the update removed some of the phone’s features and added way too few instead. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
