Motorola CHARM, the latest Android-based handset the leading mobile phone maker is set to deliver to the United States market via wireless carrier T-Mobile, reportedly got delayed to the next month, although it was initially expected to become available sometime before the end of July. Of course, August is not too far ahead, but the actual launch of Motorola's CHARM would supposedly take place to the end of the month, on August 25, which means that users would have to wait a little more than originally thought before the handset becomes available.

The good news, however, is that the first Motorola CHARM dummy units have been already spotted into the wild, which means that the launch date might have been already carved in stone, and that there are little chances that we'll see it pushed back even more. According to Android Central, T-Mobile stores around the United States are already receiving these units, something that confirms the aforementioned August release date for the device.

In case there are some wondering why Motorola CHARM got delayed, they should know that some battery issues were the main reason for that. A recent article on TmoNews states that Motorola experienced battery drainage issues with the CHARM, and that the company wanted to make sure it has them all fixed before pushing the phone into user's hands.

Motorola CLIQ, the manufacturer's first Android-based device, came to the market with poor battery life, and chances are that CHARM experienced the same problems.

In case there are some who haven't yet encountered the Motorola CHARM, we should note that it is a candybar device that should bring to T-Mobile the Android 2.1 OS in a new form factor than other Motorola phones powered by Google's mobile platform. Combining a portrait QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen display, the upcoming handset would arrive at least in two color versions, namely Cabernet and a Golden-Bronze.

in Canada you only get one battery not two like in the U.S.A. my carrier has already had to put two new battery in my charm. that did not work. they gave me a new charm it seems to be doing a bit better. i tried phoning Motorola all i got was support and they would not let me talk to the warranty department . they said it was my carrier problem they will not honor their warranty if not happy with purchase with in a month you money back guarantee . i am pretty * at Motorola well not deal with them anymore they love taking you money they have a pretty good scam go on.
