Canadian wireless carrier Telus has recently announced that it will be the exclusive distributor of Motorola's Android-based Backflip device in the country. Motorola revealed last week that it would launch three more handsets powered by Google's Android operating system in Canada, following the previous release of Milestone in the country, and Backflip will arrive on Telus's airwaves, it seems.

The Motorola Backflip comes with appealing specifications and capabilities, including great social networking functionality, a wide range of personalization features, as well as multi-tasking capabilities. At the same time, the device comes with a backward flip design, with a touchpad on the back of the touchscreen, and with a user-friendly QWERTY keyboard.

Not to mention that it comes with Motorola's MotoBlur solution, which has been designed so as to sync friends, posts, feeds, messages, e-mails, photos and much more from a variety of sources, including Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo!, or work e-mail. The MotoBlur also delivers updates in easy-to-view streams to the handset's homescreen, so that one can view them fast and answer easily.

“Leading the smartphone market means offering Canadians the best-in-class devices such as the acclaimed Motorola Backflip,” said David Fuller, senior vice-president of Product and Services at Telus. “Telus' state-of-the-art 3G+ device line-up already includes industry leading Android-powered smartphones that helps Canadians stay connected and entertained on-the-go. We're thrilled to add the Motorola Backflip to our list of Telus exclusive devices.”

Android-powered smartphones on Telus's airwaves offer a great deal of features to users, including high-performance browsing, multi-tasking options and personalization capabilities. Users will also enjoy access to favorite Google applications and services, including YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Talk, and more, while also benefiting from real-time notification of new e-mails, IM, Twitter and Facebook on their devices. Not to mention that they can access the Android Market, where they will find a number of more than 20,000 applications available for download.
