Canadian wireless operator TELUS has been rumored for quite some time now to plan launching on the market the European version of the second Android-based handset from Motorola, and now all is official. In early 2010, TELUS will deliver the Motorola Milestone to its users, and it will be the only Canadian carrier to out the phone.

“With Motorola Milestone, Canadians will no longer be limited in what they can do with their smartphone,” Rick Gadd, vice-president, Motorola Canada Mobile Devices, commented on the announcement. “They will experience the web the way they've always wanted on a mobile device, with lightning fast speeds and pages that show them more.”

What users will be able to enjoy with the upcoming device includes not only the latest flavor of Google's Android operating system, but also a great mobile web experience, superior messaging and impressive multi-media features. In addition, the handset also comes with a large touchscreen display, as well as with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and will offer users the possibility to run multiple applications at the same time.

The features list of the upcoming Motorola Milestone includes fast access to Google Search, the possibility to retrieve apps, contacts, images and more directly from the home screen, a great resolution on the 3.7" WVGA display, Flash 10-ready HTML browsing, premium 3G+ connection speeds, double-tap and pinch and zoom, fast access to social networking sites, Exchange-server support, Quick Connect option for fast access to a contact via Facebook, phone, email or text, and more.

“TELUS' new 3G+ network gives Canadians access to a world-class selection of mobile devices such as the Motorola Milestone,” stated David Neale, senior vice-president of Product and Services at TELUS. “It is TELUS commitment to offer Canadians the most comprehensive and advanced smartphone line-up available so that we can meet their needs to stay connected, informed and entertained wherever they go. That's why the Motorola Milestone will fit perfectly in our TELUS smartphone selection.”
