Wireless carrier Sprint is expected to kick off Direct Connect services on a new mobile phone soon, none other than the recently leaked Motorola Admiral, which can be seen in a video preview today.

The new mobile phone was spotted into the wild only recently, and it seems that it should not be too long before Sprint makes it available for purchase, or at least goes official with it.

A video preview with the device is now available for your viewing pleasure, coming straight from Sprint.

Clearly, that confirms not only that the mobile phone is real, but also the fact that it should not be too long before it will arrive on shelves, since the carrier is now preparing promo materials for it.

According to Sprint, the new mobile phone comes with a series of features and capabilities that will make it a real “productivity powerhouse.”

While we cannot vouch for that, we can present you some of the hardware specifications that the new device will reportedly pack when made available for purchase.

On the front, there should be a 3.1-inch touchscreen display, which is accompanied by a portrait QWERTY keyboard, so as to expand the input options for users.

On the back, the new mobile phone is expected to sport a 5-megapixel photo snapper, with support for video recording in HD resolution.

Moreover, the Motorola Admiral is expected to include support for Sprint's Direct Connect service, and to be powered by a 1,860mAh battery.

With a rugged design (it is compliant with the 810G military specifications), a 1.2GHz application processor inside, and Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system loaded on it, the new mobile phone will certainly have a lot to offer to its users.

Have a look at the video embedded below to make a better idea of the new device, and keep an eye on this space for additional info on the release date and the pricing of this mobile phone.
