After making its debut in the U.K. via Orange at the beginning of May, Motorola ATRIX is now introduced by another major carrier in the country, T-Mobile.

Tinkerers and Android fans can obtain the ATRIX for free with a new two-year £35.75 T-Mobile UK plan.

Those who select the aforementioned plan will receive 900 minutes and 500 texts, along with Unlimited Text Booster.

Motorola ATRIX was initially launched overseas via AT&T and began its worldwide expansion two months later, in April.

The smartphone is one of the first to come with a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Tegra 2 dual-core processor on board and is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. The manufacturer has revealed upgrade plans to Android 2.3 Gingerbread for June or July.

In addition, the device features the manufacturer's proprietary MOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets, which is likely to be updated once Gingerbread is delivered.

However, the device has seen two software upgrades since its launch back in February, one that will enable its HSUPA capabilities and another one that will improve the phone's battery life.

According to Motorola, this is also the world's first smartphone to feature a qHD display packing 960 x 540 pixels resolution in a 4-inch screen.

The ATRIX marks another premiers, as the first mobile phone to include a biometric fingerprint reader that provides users with extra security.

It sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization, video recording capabilities (720p@30fps), as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Motorola ATRIX packs 16 GB of internal memory, 1 GB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Connectivity options are hardly a problem for users, as the ATRIX comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, EDR and HSDPA (14.4 Mbps) support.

The phone's extra-large 1930 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 250 hours of standby or up to 9 hours of talk time.
