Bell Canada is the third major carrier that will add the latest Motorola Atrix to its Android-based smartphone lineup. After AT&T and Orange UK have both announced that they will retail the Atrix, Bell Canada also stated that Motorola ATRIX will be available exclusively to its customers “in the coming months.”

Even though the term is rather ambiguous, better late than never. Motorola ATRIX is the first smartphone to feature a webtop application which brings users a real PC browsing experience thanks to the integrated Mozilla Firefox 3.6 browser.

Obviously, the smartphone supports Adobe Flash Player and is powered by a dual-core processor with each core running at 1 GHz, delivering up to 2 GHz of processing power.

It boasts 1GB of RAM and a 4-inch QHD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

“Motorola ATRIX ushers in a new era in mobile computing and converged electronics experiences, and we’re thrilled to offer it to Canadians on Bell’s state-of-the-art network,” said Sanjay Jha, chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola Mobility.

“The Motorola ATRIX is a symbol of the innovation consumers can expect from the new company that is Motorola Mobility. ATRIX is a revolutionary tool for staying connected, informed and entertained at home, on the job and anywhere in between,” added Jha.

Other key features of the ATRIX include: HSDPA up to 14.4 Mbps, 16GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), GPS with A-GPS support, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR support and 3.5 mm audio jack.

“Motorola ATRIX is a ground-breaking product and offering it exclusively to Canadians fits with Bell’s commitment to deliver products and services that lets business and consumer clients say ‘today just got better,’” said Wade Oosterman, president of Bell Mobility & Residential Services, and Bell’s chief brand officer.

“ATRIX and its mobile computing capabilities are ready to leverage the speed, coverage and quality of Bell’s world-leading wireless network,” concluded Oosterman.

The smartphone measures 116.8 x 63.5 x 10.1 mm and weighs 136g (battery included). Motorola ATRIX is powered by a high-energy 1930 mAh lithium cell battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 10 days of standby time or up to 9 hours of talk time.
