The ATRIX is the fourth Android device launched by Motorola in Singapore, after DEFY, Milestone 2 and XOOM were released earlier this year.

Motorola hopes to have the same level of success, as all other three previously launched Android devices are doing very well in the Singapore market.

The company's flagship Android smartphone will hit stores via three local carriers on June 10 and will be available for S$988 (about $800), bundled with the HD Multimedia Dock.

In addition, the handset can be purchased along with the Lapdock, but potential customers must pay around S$1,288 (about $1,040).

According to the manufacturer, some of the carriers may offer the ATRIX with or without the dock bundle, so it's best to check it out before trying to purchase it.

The smartphone is one of the first to come with a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Tegra 2 processor on board and is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. However, the manufacturer already revealed upgrade plans to 2.3 Gingerbread at some point.

Today, we introduced a new portfolio that is very differentiated and it is more than just a smartphone. It has all the features and functionality you would expect from a mobile device; it is also a multimedia centre, a cloud-computing device, a laptop, and is seamless to the user,” said Spiros Nikolakopoulos, vice president and general manager, International distribution markets, Motorola Mobility.

Motorola ATRIX marks another world's premier, as the smartphone is touted as the first to feature a qHD display packing 960 x 540 pixels resolution in a 4-inch screen.

Another interesting feature available is the biometric fingerprint reader that provides users with extra security.

The phone's extra-large 1930 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 250 hours of standby or up to 9 hours of talk time.
