Motorola ATRIX 4G, the high-end smartphone that would become available for purchase in the United States on the airwaves of AT&T, is expected to be accompanied by accessories like a laptop dock or a HD one, Motorola announced officially at the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas in early January.

According to previous rumors, the handset's laptop dock would be bound to land on shelves with a price tag of $150 attached to it, and it seems that the HD dock, a multimedia device, would be only about one third of that.

Recent reports on this HD dock suggest that Motorola would have it priced at only $60, $90 less than what the laptop dock is rumored to cost.

Some of the latest reports on the Motorola ATRIX 4G pointed at the fact that AT&T might have it on sale for only $150 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

The laptop dock offers great functionality for the device, being capable of transforming it into what Motorola touts it as being, namely a true mobile computer.

The HD dock, on the other hand, can be used as a charger for the phone, among other functionalities (Motorola’s webtop application would launch when the phone is placed into the dock).

The device comes with three USB ports that offer connectivity for keyboards, mice or external hard drives, and also comes with a microHDMI port.

Motorola's first video ads on ATRIX 4G pointed at the fact that it would be able to provide similar functionality as laptops, and that its hardware specs would also prove of great help in this regard.

For those not yet familiar with the handset, we should note that it comes with a dual-core application processor inside, an Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, complemented by 1GB of RAM.

WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth connectivity options, along with GPS receiver are also included into the mix, as well as support for AT&T's HSPA+ network.

The mobile phone comes with 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for additional storage space.

Other specs of the device would include a qHD touchscreen display, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities on the back, and a front-facing camera for video calling.
