AT&T has just axed the ATRIX 4G's price to $99.99 with a new two-year agreement and a minimum data service starting at $15 per month.

However, this is not the first time the ATRIX 4G is the subject of such a deal, as multiple major retailers in the country already offered the smartphone for promotional prices in the past.

Even at launch, the phone was offered by Walmart for $129.99, as well as Amazon and RadioShack for $149.99, which was much cheaper than the phone's original price of $199.99.

Amazon had a second promotion on the ATRIX 4G at the beginning of April and was offering it for only $49.99, but the deal was time limited.

Currently the phone can be purchased via Amazon or AT&T for the same price $99.99 with a new line activation.

The smartphone is one of the first to come with a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Tegra 2 dual-core processor on board and is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo.

In addition, the device features the manufacturer's proprietary MOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets, which is likely to be updated once Gingerbread is delivered.

However, the device has seen two software upgrades since its launch back in February, one that will enable its HSUPA capabilities and another one that will improve the phone's battery life.

Touted as the world's first smartphone to feature a qHD display packing 960 x 540 pixels resolution in a 4-inch screen, Motorola ATRIX 4G comes with accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

It sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization, video recording capabilities (720p@30fps), as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Motorola ATRIX 4G packs 16 GB of internal memory, 1 GB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone's extra-large 1930 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 400 hours of standby or up to 9 hours of talk time.
