After introducing its Android flagship smartphone, Motorola RAZR, another device of the US-based handset maker makes its debut on the Indian market, the ATRIX 2.
Motorola ATRIX 2 is now available for purchase through Letsbuy
for Rs 22,990 (460 USD or 350 EUR) outright. Another Indian major retailer, Flipkart
is now taking pre-orders for Motorola ATRIX 2 and will introduce the smartphone next week.
However, customers who purchase the Motorola ATRIX 2 via Letsbuy will also receive Norton Mobile Security for Android, probably for 12 months.
For unknown reasons, Motorola decided not to bring the ATRIX 2
in Europe. Still, other regions such as North America and Asia already got the smartphone, which seems to rival the company’s Motorola RAZR.
Unveiled back in October, Motorola ATRIX 2 is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread
operating system, but has already been confirmed for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. In addition, the phone runs Motorola’s proprietary MOTOBLUR UI on top of Gingerbread.
The ATRIX 2 comes with a stunning 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.
The phone’s screen features Corning Gorilla Glass coating that protects it against accidental scratches and scrapes.
On the back, Motorola ATRIX 2 boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls and self-portraits.
The insides of the ATRIX 2 are not as impressive as RAZR’s, but it can be easily positioned among the powerful Android smartphones available on the market.
ATRIX 2 is equipped with a powerful dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1 GHz, as well as a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit. The phone also packs 8GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).
