Claro is Motorola’s main partner in Argentina. A small chunk of Motorola’s portfolio was launched in Argentina via this carrier. For example, last year in July, Motorola and Claro have teamed up to offer customers the ATRIX Android smartphone.

This week both companies announced the immediate availability the Motorola ATRIX 2 Android smartphone. Beginning this week, customers can purchase the device via Claro for as low as $365 USD and a plan of $45 USD.

Those who don't want to commit to a long-term contract will have to spend a small fortune on the Motorola ATRIX 2, as the carrier offers the device for a suggested retail price of $1,365 USD.

Claro’s customers are looking for devices with an advanced Web experience, and Motorola ATRIX 2 includes all that they need. It’s a privilege for us offer to our Argentinean users devices like this, with great power, that will be very successful,” said Fernando del Río, commercial manager, mass market, Claro Argentina.

Powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system integrated with MOTOBLUR UI, the ATRIX 2 provides users access to more than 450,000 apps and games via Google Play store, formerly known as Android Market.

Not so popular as its predecessor, the ATRIX 2 comes equipped with a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1 GHz and packs 8GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

Motorola ATRIX 2 sports a more than decent 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen that supports 960 x 540 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

There's also an 8-megapixel photo snapper that features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary front-facing camera for video calls.

Motorola ATRIX 2 is the smartphone that doubles as an entertainment center. You can have a blast doing multiple things at once: watching movies, web surfing, sharing pictures, you name it,” added Germán Greco, product marketing director of Motorola Mobility.
