Motorola already confirmed several times its Ice Cream Sandwich release timetable, but it seems that the ATRIX 2 has completely fallen off the map.

Today, the US-based handset vendor announced the immediate availability of the Motorola ATRIX 2 in Thailand. The smartphone is available for purchase from authorized retailers across the country for a suggested retail price of 14,500 Baht (470 USD or 360 EUR).

More importantly, the smartphone is shipped with no less than ten free Electronic Arts games, including Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Need for Speed Shift, Dead Space, EA SPORTS FIFA 10, THE GAME OF LIFE, MONOPOLY, The Sims 3, Tetris, Worms and Bejeweled 2.

Motorola ATRIX 2 is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with MOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets, and packs a 1 GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU.

On the inside, the smartphone embeds 8GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

The handset boasts a hyper-vibrant 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

There’s also an impressive 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

We’re excited for customers of the Motorola ATRIX 2, who will be in for a treat when they turn on their device and gain instant access to some of our most popular titles, including Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, The Sims 3 or Tetris. We couldn’t be more pleased to work with Motorola Mobility on this integration – the games look and play beautifully,” said Henry Yeh, director OEM Asia, EA Mobile.
