Mobile phone maker Motorola has finally decided to make some more wood back covers available for the Moto X, and announced that users will be able to purchase them starting with January 21.

On top of that, the company also decided to cut the price tag for these accessories, allowing users to grab them at only $25 (€18.48) now.

Starting with the next week, users in the United States will be able to purchase Ebony, Walnut, and Teak (it was previously announced as Rosewood) versions of the wood back plates as well, in addition to the Bamboo variant that was already up for grabs.

“We want to make the upgrade to a wood finish just as accessible to people, so we're making it available for just $25 more,” Lior Ron, CVP product management, Motorola, notes in a blog post.

“Bamboo will be available with this new price on Moto Maker starting today and Walnut, Teak and Ebony finishes will be available starting January 21st.”

On top of that, Motorola appears to be sending out emails to those who have already purchased the Moto X wood back plates at $100 to inform them that it has a coupon code worth $75 (€55.5) available for them, as Droid-life notes in a recent post.

Apparently, they will be able to use the coupon code for any accessories that total more than $75 before taxes. However, the Google Chromecast is not included in the offer, Motorola notes in said email.

“Featuring natural finishes and distinct grains, these wood backs are undeniably unique and provide a whole new level of sophisticated customization for your smartphone. Every wood grain is different, so every phone is too - just like you,” Lior Ron also says.

Users interested in learning more on the company’s offer should head over to the MotoMaker portal for that.
