Moto X, the newest Android-smartphone from Motorola, will be available for purchase on T-Mobile’s network, but will not be released through the wireless carrier’s stores, at least not in the beginning, a report from AllThingsD claims.

T-Mobile’s Chief Marketing Officer Mike Sievert has confirmed that the smartphone will be available for purchase only through Motorola’s channels, but the wireless carrier is in talks with Motorola to start selling the device via its stores as well.

“We do not plan to stock Moto X devices immediately in our stores but are working closely with Motorola to make the Moto X a great experience for T-Mobile customers,” he says.

Moto X will arrive on shelves in late August priced at $199 (€150) with the signing of a two-year contract agreement, a cost that does not fit T-Mobile’s current offering, which includes high-end smartphones at only $99.
