Mobile phone maker Motorola has just announced plans to cut the price tag for its Moto X smartphone by $150 (€110) on Cyber Monday, so as to make the device a bit more appealing for users.

The handset will be available through Motorola’s online portal at $349 (€257) on that day, without requiring the signing of a contract agreement with a wireless carrier.

Furthermore, the company announced that users would be able to grab it in any color combination they like, and that the Moto X Developer Edition would also be included in the offer.

The promotion will kick off on Monday, December 2, at 8:00 a.m. CST, and will end when stock is depleted.

“Thinking about Cyber Monday already? We’ll be offering a $150 discount on any off-contract Moto X, including Moto Maker and Dev Edition. Supplies will be limited, so stay tuned for more details,” the company announced on Google+.

Moto X was made official back in August, when it landed on shelves in the United States on AT&T’s network, but it has seen little traction on the market so far.

The aforementioned price cut, however, should increase sales. We also believe that the availability of additional promotions for Moto X during the holiday season will help Motorola gain some more users on its side.

Moto X arrives on the market with a 4.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that can deliver a 720p resolution, and is powered by the Motorola X8 mobile computing system.

Furthermore, the handset packs a 10-megapixel camera on the back, complemented by a 2-megapixel front camera. It also sports 2GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal memory, but no microSD memory card slot.

Moto X was launched with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top, but it has already started to receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update.
