Moto X, the latest Android-based smartphone from Motorola and the first to have been designed by the company after Google’s acquisition, did not manage to attract too many users on its side, it seems.

Citing a Strategy Analytics report, the Wall Street Journal notes that only half a million Moto X smartphones were sold in the third quarter of the year, despite the fact that the device landed on shelves in August.

In fact, proof of slow sales comes from the fact that Motorola decided to cut the price tag for Moto X to only $100 (€75) on contract, after selling it for twice the amount until now.

The device is not expected to perform much better during the fourth quarter of the year either. According to the research firm, Motorola and Google will sell only one million devices in the timeframe.
