Mobile phone maker Motorola and wireless carrier T-Mobile have started to deliver a new software update for the owners of Moto X devices on Magenta’s network.

The new software release, available for download over-the-air as version 139.12.57.ghost_row.Retail.en.US, offers a nice range of enhancements for various features of the device.

One of the most important of these improvements is related to the handset’s camera, which now sports better capture of natural light (auto-white balance).

Furthermore, Motorola delivered enhanced color accuracy for more precise exposure in outdoor and backlit scenes, along with other camera improvements.

However, camera was not the only feature of Moto X targeted by the new software release. Following its installation, users will also enjoy better touchless control, as well as changes to the voice call quality, and more.

The release notes for the update include:

- Faster touch to focus time and reduced unnecessary refocusing in low light conditions and scenes with continuous motion - Shortened the time it takes to switch between rear and front-facing cameras, as well as transition between the viewfinder and the Gallery app - Increased accuracy and responsiveness when using Touchless Control, and added easier training of the “OK Google Now” trigger - Improved transfer of content from an old Android phone to a new Motorola phone - Fixed an issue that could sometimes result in choppy audio being heard by the person you’re talking with on your Moto X - Fixed an issue that could sometimes prevent a lost phone from reporting its location to the Moto Care Lost Device Finder service - Fixed an issue that could sometimes cause the phone to read out text messages and announce calls when not in Drive mode

Additionally, the update comes with an expiration date for the 50GB Google Drive promotion available for them. Following the installation of the update, they will need to redeem their free storage within 30 days.

The update has already started to roll out to Moto X devices on T-Mobile’s network, and should reach all of them soon. Users can learn more on it on Motorola’s support website.
